Ayodhya Ram Mandir: NSG Snipers, AI-Based CCTV, and Drones Enforce Multi-Layered Security

With NSG snipers, 10,000 CCTV cameras, AI-powered drones, UP police commandos, and plainclothes police, along with thousands of state police personnel, Ayodhya has transformed into a fortress, employing multi-layered security for the ‘pran prathishtha’ ceremony at Shri Ram Mandir.

The holy city is under the vigilant eye of security agencies, with state police, central forces like the Rapid Action Force (RAF), and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) actively participating in security preparations.

Prashant Kumar, Director General (DG) of Law and Order, emphasized the historic nature of the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony and detailed the elaborate security arrangements made by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

To enhance security, extensive technological measures have been employed, including the installation of 10,000 CCTV cameras throughout Ayodhya. Some of these cameras utilize AI-based technology for strict vigilance on commuters, ensuring a comprehensive approach to surveillance.

Kumar highlighted the significance of the undertaking for the UP Police, acknowledging the challenges and opportunities it presents. Stringent security measures, such as traffic diversions from surrounding districts, have been implemented, allowing only authorized vehicles into Ayodhya. The state police are collaborating with other agencies, conducting checks at international and inter-state borders, and employing drones for crowd control and managing excess crowds.

Security personnel with multi-lingual skills in plain clothes have been deployed at the ceremony venue. Additionally, security along the Saryu River has been bolstered with the assistance of NDRF and State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) teams.

Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) personnel are actively patrolling the holy city. The use of AI-equipped drones for aerial surveillance and anti-mine drones inspecting the ground for explosives further demonstrates the comprehensive security measures in place for Ayodhya. The anti-mine drones, operating at a low altitude, utilize advanced technology, including spectrometer wavelength detection, to identify underground explosives, enhancing the overall security infrastructure in the temple town.
