Fighter (2022) – Movie Review:
In 1986, “Top Gun” set the standard for aerial action films, and Tom Cruise’s charisma took the world by storm. Decades later, in 2022, Cruise made a comeback with a revamped version of the franchise in Siddharth Anand’s “Fighter,” drawing inspiration from the iconic film. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, “Fighter” aims to deliver a patriotic and action-packed narrative.
Siddharth Anand, known for his larger-than-life entertainers, infuses a patriotic flavor into “Fighter,” blending glamour, high-octane action, and patriotism. The film’s plot revolves around the Pulwama attack and the events leading up to and following it, incorporating familiar patriotic elements.
Anand introduces the characters methodically, notably giving Deepika Padukone’s Minni a stellar entry before bringing in the lead, Hrithik Roshan’s Patty. The film, led by Rakesh Jaisingh (Anil Kapoor), follows the Air Force pilots of the Air Dragons unit, featuring Minni, Patty, Taj (Karan Singh Grover), and Bash (Akshay Oberoi).
