Vikrant Massey, known for his role in the film “12th Fail,” directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has been receiving widespread acclaim for his portrayal of real-life IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma’s inspiring journey. In an interview with Unfiltered by Samdish, Vikrant delved into his early days in the entertainment industry. He recounted his transition from working in television serials to pursuing a career in cinema, despite earning a substantial income of ₹35 lakh per month from TV. Vikrant explained that despite financial security, he felt compelled to step away from the regressive content prevalent in television and seek fulfillment in the world of cinema. He recalled the shock his decision brought to his parents, given his lucrative TV contract at the time. Vikrant emphasized his desire to pursue meaningful work and find inner peace as his driving force for the career shift.
Additionally, Vikrant shared the supportive role played by his then-girlfriend, now-wife Sheetal Thakur, who provided him with financial assistance for auditions after his savings ran out. Vikrant and Sheetal tied the knot in 2022 and recently welcomed their first child, a baby boy. Despite his success in television, Vikrant’s decision to prioritize artistic fulfillment over financial gain showcases his dedication to his craft.
