Review:

Despite its claim of being inspired by true events, “Six Nine Five” struggles to capture the audience’s attention, making it an arduous experience. Spanning over two hours, the film lacks narrative momentum, delving repetitively into the hardships faced by Hindus after a mosque is constructed over Lord Ram’s birthplace. Unfortunately, it fails to introduce enough variety or depth to keep viewers engaged.

The film opens in 1858 with Sikhs entering the Babri Mosque, claiming it as Lord Ram’s birthplace. Temporarily subsiding tension with British intervention, it then jumps to the post-independence era, following key figures like Guruji and Raghunandan. The narrative progresses, showcasing the involvement of influential figures from VHP and BJP, leading to the Supreme Court’s 2019 verdict permitting the construction of a Ram Temple.

Cinematically, “Six Nine Five” is weak, featuring a subpar screenplay and average direction. Continuity errors further diminish its quality, missing opportunities for a more engaging experience. Arun Govil and Ashok Samarth deliver commendable performances, but the film’s downfall lies in its screenplay and direction. Despite having two directors, the film fails to provide a well-researched treatment for a case that reshaped the country’s political landscape.
