She hails from a Telugu Brahmin family with Venugopal Rao as her father and Santha Kamakshi Rao as her mother. Sobhita spent her childhood in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where she attended Little Angel School and Visakha Valley School. Later, she moved to Mumbai for higher studies and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and a Masters of Commerce (M.Com) degree in Economics from the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics.
