SUV Crashes into Procession in Rajasthan’s Nagaur, Driver Suffers Heart Attack
In a tragic incident in Degana, located in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district, a Bolero SUV collided with a procession being held on Vishwakarma Jayanti. The accident occurred when the driver of the SUV suffered a heart attack, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, ultimately leading to the collision.
According to statements provided to HT by the Nagaur Police, the driver of the vehicle tragically passed away due to a heart attack. Additionally, they confirmed that five individuals sustained injuries in the accident. While three of them were discharged after receiving initial medical attention, two were referred to Ajmer for further treatment.
In response to the incident, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma took to X, formerly Twitter, to express his condolences. “Deeply saddened by the news of the road accident during the Vishwakarma Jayanti procession in Degana. My heartfelt prayers go out to the departed soul and for the swift recovery of the injured. May the affected families find the strength to cope with this tragedy,” Sharma wrote.
Reports suggest that approximately a dozen individuals were participating in the procession, organized by members of the Jangid community. A CCTV footage capturing the accident reveals the Bolero SUV initially moving slowly behind the procession participants. However, the vehicle suddenly accelerates, crashing into the marchers.
