On Tuesday, Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, grappled with extensive outages as Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and Messenger experienced disruptions globally. Downdetector, a website monitoring outages, recorded over 300,000 Facebook outages and more than 47,000 reports for Instagram worldwide.

A Meta spokesperson, Andy Stone, acknowledged the issue, stating, “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.” Later, Stone confirmed that the problem had been resolved, apologizing for any inconvenience caused.

Users encountered difficulties around 8:56 PM, experiencing issues loading content on their feeds, with problems reported in app functionality, login, and content uploading. London-based internet monitoring firm Netblocks reported login session outages across multiple countries for four Meta platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads.

Additionally, Meta’s status dashboard indicated issues with the WhatsApp Business API. Downdetector received approximately 200 reports of WhatsApp outages.
