Amit Shah commends the selfless service of Suttur mutt as seers prepare to establish Ayodhya branch
Amit Shah also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives to revitalize cultural centers such as the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Mahakala corridor in Ujjain, and the development projects in Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended Suttur Mutt for its altruistic endeavors in the realm of education and hailed Suttur seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami’s initiative to establish a branch of the mutt in Ayodhya. He expressed these sentiments while inaugurating the ‘Parvathamma Shamanuru Shivashankarappa Guest House’ on the sixth day of the Suttur Jatra Mahotsava, held in Suttur on Sunday, February 11. The Suttur Jatra Mahotsava, which commenced on February 6, concluded on February 11.
Amit Shah praised the 24 seers of Suttur Mutt for their selfless dedication to illuminating the lives of numerous students through education. He noted that Suttur Mutt oversees more than 350 educational institutions, employing over 20,000 staff and serving more than one lakh students. Shah particularly highlighted the establishment of a Polytechnic to empower differently-abled students.
Acknowledging the significance of social reformer Basavanna, Shah emphasized the importance of his visit to Suttur, revealing that he had altered his schedule to attend the event, prioritizing the opportunity to meet the seer over other commitments.
Shah underscored the multifaceted nature of the six-day Jatra Mahotsava, which encompassed various activities such as rathotsav, tapotsav, kondotsav, mass weddings, agricultural exhibitions, and indigenous games, fostering cultural revival and inclusivity.
Expressing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s profound respect for Suttur Mutt, Shah affirmed the party’s commitment to propagate its services among the masses.
In addition, Shah commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s endeavors to rejuvenate cultural centers like the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath corridor, and others.
Suttur seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami highlighted the cultural revitalization facilitated by the Suttur Jatra in rural areas, emphasizing Seer Rajendra Swami’s contributions to education, social welfare, and healthcare sectors.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, BJP State President B. Y. Vijayendra, MP Pratap Simha, and other BJP leaders were also in attendance.
Furthermore, Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, renowned for sculpting the Balak Ram idol at Ayodhya, was felicitated by the seer and Amit Shah.
Amit Shah paid a visit to the Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hill and offered prayers around 2:30 pm. Later in the evening, he participated in a party meeting with senior functionaries from the Mysuru cluster, including Mysuru-Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, and Hassan.
