Family Dispute Involving Ravindra Jadeja Goes Public as Cricketer Stands Up for Wife Against Father’s Accusations
Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has vehemently denied the allegations leveled against his wife, Rivaba, by his father, Anirudhsinh Jadeja, during a recent interview with a Gujarati newspaper. Referring to the interview as “orchestrated” and “baseless,” Ravindra dismissed it as an attempt to malign Rivaba’s reputation. Posting a message in Gujarati on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Jadeja condemned the interview’s content.
In his statement, Jadeja stated, “The claims made in the fabricated interview hold no truth or significance. It presents a biased narrative, and I categorically refute all allegations. The efforts to defame my wife are deeply disappointing and unacceptable. While I have much to express, I choose not to do so publicly.” This response comes as Ravindra marked his 15th year in international cricket.

Speaking to Divya Bhaskar, Anirudhsinh revealed that he leads a modest life, opting for a simple 2BHK apartment in Jamnagar despite his son Ravindra’s farmhouse nearby. He mentioned managing expenses with his wife’s ₹20,000 pension, maintaining his independence with a house-help for cooking. Anirudhsinh emphasized his autonomy, even ensuring a separate room for Ravindra in his 2BHK.
Expressing dismay, Anirudhsinh claimed that Ravindra fails to maintain cordial relations with him and his sister. He asserted his position as Ravindra’s father, stating it’s Ravindra’s responsibility to initiate contact. Anirudhsinh highlighted the emotional toll, noting tears shed by his sister on Rakshabandhan.
Detailing their humble origins and sacrifices for Ravindra’s cricket career, Anirudhsinh recounted carrying milk cans and working various jobs. He praised his daughter’s maternal care for Ravindra but lamented Ravindra’s estrangement from her.
Anirudhsinh alleged Ravindra’s wife Rivaba of stirring family discord, citing a disagreement over restaurant ownership post-marriage. Rivaba’s insistence on transferring ownership to her name led to conflict, with Anirudhsinh’s sister agreeing, assuming Ravindra’s management.
