"Percy Jackson and the Olympians" Emerges as One of the Top Five Most-Watched Shows on Disney+ and Hulu in 2023

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Dominates Disney+ and Hulu with Record-Breaking Viewership

The highly anticipated series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has become a streaming sensation, securing the top five most-watched season premieres on Disney+ and Hulu in 2023 with just its first episode. According to Variety, the show has amassed an impressive 13.3 million views within its first six days since its premiere on the streaming platforms.

In comparison to other notable releases on Disney+ this year, such as “The Mandalorian Season 3,” “Loki Season 2,” “Ahsoka,” and “Secret Invasion,” as well as Hulu’s offerings like “The Bear Season 2,” “Only Murders in the Building Season 3,” “The Kardashians Seasons 3 and 4,” “American Horror Stories Season 3,” and the “Futurama” reboot, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” stands out with its remarkable viewership.

While “Ahsoka” achieved slightly higher viewership in its first five days with 14 million viewers, and “Loki Season 2” garnered 10.9 million viewers in just three days, the numbers recorded by “Percy Jackson” are particularly impressive considering its target audience of 8 to 12-year-olds. Notably, the show has surpassed expectations and found a broader audience than anticipated, especially given that both “Ahsoka” and “Loki” aimed at a larger group of adult viewers.

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is an adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novels and has not only become the most-watched premiere for Disney Branded Television, including shows like “High School Musical: The Series,” but it has also received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, the show boasts a talented team including Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, and the Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, and D.J. Goldberg.

Having premiered its first two episodes on December 19 on Disney+, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” continues to captivate viewers, with a new episode streaming every Tuesday.
