Ira Khan, Daughter of Aamir Khan, Commences Pre-Wedding Celebrations; Kiran Rao and Son Azad Partake in the Festivities. Watch the Moments Unfold.
Ira Khan is gearing up for her impending marriage to her fiancé Nupur Shikhare, and the pre-wedding festivities have already kicked off with a Kelvan ceremony. As the daughter of Aamir Khan and his first wife, Reena Dutta, Ira shared glimpses of the Maharashtrian celebration on her Instagram Stories.
In the photos, family members and friends, including Aamir’s ex-wife Kiran Rao and their son Azad Rao Khan, can be seen participating in the festivities. The attendees enjoyed a traditional Maharashtrian-style meal served on banana leaves. Ira, doubling as a videographer, captured the joyful moment and humorously exclaimed, “My God guys, get married to a Maharashtrian and get a Kelvan. How fun is this?”
During the Kelvan celebration, Ira’s close friend Mithila Palkar joined the event, sharing snapshots on social media. Posing with the soon-to-be bride Ira and groom Nupur, Mithila donned a bright yellow salwar suit, while Ira looked elegant in a red cotton saree, and Nupur wore a traditional red kurta and saafa.
Mithila expressed her excitement in the caption, stating, “The wedding festivities have begun” and encouraging the couple with, “Let’s get you guys married.” Ira, meanwhile, reposted updates on her official Instagram handle and was seen posing with other guests. However, Aamir Khan was not visible in any of the shared photos or videos.
The much-anticipated wedding ceremony is reportedly scheduled for January 3. Ira and Nupur got engaged after a proposal by Nupur, followed by an engagement party in Mumbai last year. The event was attended by close family members and friends, including Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Reena Dutta, Imran Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and others.
Expressing his sentiments about Ira’s special day, Aamir Khan previously shared with News18, “Main toh bada emotional hota hoon bhai, uss din main bahut rone waala hoon yeh toh tay hai. (I’m extremely emotional, and I’m going to cry a lot at Ira’s wedding, that’s for sure).”
